About

We built Margin because growing and earning stopped being the same thing.

We spent years working inside ecommerce brands. The same thing happened at every single one. Sales went up. The team celebrated. Then the accountant showed up at the end of the quarter and the money wasn't there.

It was never one big mistake. It was a thousand small ones nobody had time to catch: a product that costs more to ship than it earns, a campaign that looks brilliant until you count returns, a pallet of perfectly good stock sold for pennies because sorting it was somebody's least favorite job.

Those decisions are boring, they repeat every day, and they're worth a fortune. That's exactly the kind of work a computer should be doing — as long as it stays on a short leash and shows its work.

So we built one thing that does two jobs well, rather than a magic box that claims to do everything.

Margin is not a robot CEO.

It does two jobs, it stays inside your rules, and it asks before anything risky. That's the whole promise. Here it is spelled out.

What it will do

  • Work out the real profit behind every product and every ad
  • Move ad budget away from the orders that lose money
  • Decide what to do with each returned item, one at a time
  • Explain every decision in a sentence you can read on your phone
  • Ask first whenever a call is bigger than the limits you set

What it won't do

  • Won't publish creative you haven't approved
  • Won't message your customers outside the rules you wrote
  • Won't ever change a price past the limits you set — your limits are hard limits
  • Won't hire or fire anyone. People decisions stay yours, always

Come argue with us about your numbers.

Bring your last quarter. We'll tell you honestly whether Margin would help.
